MEBANE — Mr. Marvin Grant McBroom, 77, of 1042 South Third St., died at 10:38 p.m. Feb. 17, 2011 at the Hospice Home of Burlington.
He was a loving father and grandfather, and was retired from White’s Furniture as a machine operator.
Survivors include one son, Randy McBroom and wife Lisa of Mebane; grandchildren, Tyler and Nichole McBroom; stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Eric Barber; great-stepgrandchildren, Christian and Brayden Barber; a sister, Frances Fox of Mebane; a brother, Robert McBroom and wife Lucy of Mebane; and many loving stepchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirlie Hamlet McBroom; wife, Nellie Rice Kernodle McBroom; parents, Vernon and Lillie Ray McBroom; sister, Marie Shanklin; brothers, Vance McBroom and Thomas McBroom; and infant brother, Samuel McBroom.
Visitation
will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19 at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane and at other times at the residence of the son, Randy, at 1066 S. Third St., Mebane.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Dr. Terry Farmer and the Rev. Judy Butler. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance/ Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C.
