Gregory “Greg” Keith Barbee

 
 BURLINGTON, N.C. — Gregory “Greg” Keith Barbee, 52, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Alamance County after a long battle with cancer.
 
 A native of Alamance County, Greg was the son of the late Bobby Gene Barbee and Tracy Lucille Putnam Lafferty. Greg was employed for many years in the construction industry as a carpenter in the Alamance County area. He enjoyed fishing, yard work, NASCAR racing and spending time with family and friends, as well as his dog “Oreo.” Greg attended Landmark Baptist Church in Burlington.
 
 Survivors include his significant other, Beth Overman, of the home; son, Gregory Keith Barbee Jr. of Burlington; stepmother, Sandra Barbee Griffin and husband Tom of Burlington; three brothers, Roger Barbee of Burlington, Randy Barbee and wife Bonnie of Holly Springs and Chris Barbee and wife Angie of Burlington; sister, Kimberly “Kim” Stevens of Elon; and two stepbrothers, Chuck Loy and wife Carla of Burlington and Jeff Loy and wife Becky of Mebane; many nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Tom Griffin and Charlie Joe Cobb.
 
 He was preceded
 
in death by his brother, Tracy Gene Barbee.
 
 A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 4 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Josh Eller.The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and at other times at his home, 2020 Lower Hopedale Road, Burlington, N.C. There will be a private burial at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
 
 The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Choksi and Rosa Jacobson from the Alamance Cancer Center and all the employees of the Hospice Home of Alamance County.
