Larry Edward Robertson Sr.


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Larry Edward Robertson Sr., 75, of 2327 N.C.49 North, Burlington, died at his residence on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 7 a.m.
    Mr. Robertson was born August 17, 1934 in Alamance County. He was the husband of Evelyn E. Robertson for 49 years, who survives and the son of David Edward Robertson and Goldie O. Kinney Robertson, both deceased. Larry attended E. M. Holt School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired self-employed tractor mechanic. He was a volunteer fireman at the Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department where he was honored with 20 years of service. Larry was a member of Long’s Chapel Christian Church.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his daughter, Leesa Ross and husband Phil of Burlington; his son, Larry E. Robertson Jr. of the home; two grandchildren, Julie Ross and David Ross; and a sister, Dixie Robertson of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Robertson and Franklin Robertson.
    The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James Baughn. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham following the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to the Long’s Chapel Building Fund, 2364 N.C. 49 North, Burlington, N.C. 27217.
    The family would like to thank Fred Somers and Janice Brown, the caregivers from Maxim and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell and also all friends and neighbors for the care and support given to Larry.
