Edna Bright Glosson
BURLINGTON — Edna Bright Glosson, 89, passed away peacefully at the Hospice Home on June 15, 2010 with her family by her side. She had been critically ill for two weeks and in failing health for seven years.

She worked at Baker-Cammack Hosiery for many years and later was co-owner of R.C. Glosson Grocery and Service Station on Highway 87 South. (Remember the sign, “If you can’t stop, wave”?)

She was a former resident of Alamance Health Care and lived in the Southern High School area for most of her life. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church and of the Philathia Sunday School Class.

She was the wife of the late Robert “Rabbit” Glosson and is survived by her son, Robert W. “Bobby” (Carolyn) Glosson of Graham; her daughter, Billie Kaye (Melvin) Martin of Burlington; grandchildren, Jeffrey W. Glosson of Graham, Steven (Shara) Glosson of Greensboro and Christopher (Lydia) Martin of Mooresville; great-grandchildren, Will and Abby Glosson; brother, Donald (Barbara) Bright of Graham; sister, Hazeline (Boyd) Coble of Burlington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. D.W. Bright; twin sister, Edith Ireland; and brothers, John, Otis and Howard Bright.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Shelton and the Rev. Neal Salter with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of her daughter, Billie Kaye Martin, 325 Bidney Drive, Burlington.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Alamance Health Care (especially Edith, Gail and Rayna) and also the nurses at the Hospice Home for their loving care.
