Mr. Hubert Ford Bolick
   BURLINGTON — Mr. Hubert Ford Bolick, 83, of 614 Shadowbrook Drive, died Saturday, August 7, 2010, at home in the company of family.

   A native of Graham, he was married for 32 years to the late Jean Davis Bolick, who died in 1982, and the husband of Elsie Somers Haithcock Bolick, whom he married in 1984 and survives him. He was the son of the late Henry Wesley Bolick Sr. and the late Ida Downey Bolick.

   Mr. Bolick graduated from Broad Street High School in Burlington and later earned a business degree from Elon College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Mr. Bolick retired from AT&T after 34 years of service and later worked in real estate for Coldwell Banker.

   He was a faithful and dedicated member of First Christian United Church of Christ in Burlington for over 50 years. He served as a Deacon and on various boards and committees, including Chairman of the Official Board and Chairman of the Board of Finance.

   Mr. Bolick served on the board for CrimeStoppers of Alamance County, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a past member of the Burlington Lions Club. He was a member of the Alamance Country Club, the Alamance Country Club Men’s Golf Association and a member of the “tennis group.” He was a member of the Sea Trail Men’s Golf Association in Sunset Beach, N.C. He was actively involved in coaching youth football, basketball and softball in Alamance County for many years.

   Mr. Bolick enjoyed playing golf and tennis, watching his grandchildren play sports and watching college sports. He was an avid Tar Heel fan, loved to travel, and most of all he loved being with his family and friends.

   Mr. Bolick is survived by his wife of 26 years, Elsie, of the home; his children, Stephen Ford Bolick and his wife, Susan, James Kent Bolick and his wife, Debbie, Leigh Bolick Simmons and her husband Grady, Leslie Anne Bolick, Wiley Stuart Haithcock and his wife, Connie, Stephen Lee Haithcock and his wife, Pam and Stanley Earl Haithcock and his wife, Glea; his grandchildren, Stephen Ford Bolick II, Kelly Davis Bolick, Alison Kent Bolick, Elizabeth Jean Bolick, Gary Brent Jacques and his wife, Jennifer, Lauren Williams Caldwell Buck and her husband, Bryan, Meghan Smith Caldwell, Grayson Bennett Caldwell, Matthew Stephen Haithcock, Amanda Lee Haithcock, Wiley Chandler Haithcock, Callie Stuart Haithcock, Leah Somers Haithcock, Abby Glea Haithcock, Luke Stanley Haithcock and Jacob Earl Haithcock; his great-grandchildren, Grant Jacques and Leighton Jacques; and his brother, Harold D. Bolick; and his father-in-law, Paul E. Davis.

   In addition to his first wife, Jean, and his parents, Mr. Bolick was preceded in death by his sister, Louise Bolick Haithcock; his brothers, Henry Wesley Bolick Jr., John L. Bolick, Woodrow W. Bolick and Donald L. Bolick; and his grandson, James Bolick.

   The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson in Burlington, Monday, August 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

   Services for Mr. Bolick will be at 1 p.m, Tuesday, August 10, at First Christian United Church of Christ in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Pickett. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.

   The family would like to express their gratitude to the many healthcare providers for their excellent care. They would like to express a special thank you to his private duty caregivers and to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell.
