BURLINGTON — Mr. John H. “Jack” Muckensturm, 89, of 1549 Sandy Cross Road, Burlington died at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Durham on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 10:05 a.m.
A native of Dorchester, NJ, he was the husband of Shirley Wrenn Muckensturm, who survives and the son of Emil Muckensturm and Laura Muckensturm, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and retired owner of a landscaping service in Pompano Beach, FL.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a son, Emil Muckensturm of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; stepdaughter, Jeannette Joseph Marin of Dallas, TX; and stepsons, Jim Joseph of Burlington and Timmy Douglas Southern of Easley, SC.
Military graveside rites will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any organization that benefits veterans.
