Harland Thomas Sturdivant, 65, died at 4 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital of Alamance County after five days of illness.
A native of Wake County, he was the husband of Mrs. Pauline Michael Sturdivant, who survives, and son of the late Chan Lee (Thomas Chance Sturdivant) and Elizabeth Smith Penley Sturdivant (Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Smith Sturdivant Penley).
He was a retired employee of Copland Fabrics.
Survivors other than his wife are three daughters, Mrs. Mary Lou Garrison of Eden; Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds of Pulaski, VA and Mrs. Donna Sweat of Burlington; one son, Douglas Studivant of Rt. 8, Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Linda Frye of Charlotte; two half-sisters, Miss Jessie Penley and Mrs. Pauline Ward, of Graham; two half-brothers, Robert Penley and Paul Penley of Rt. 1, Elon College, and eight grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Tommy Love, pastor of Wicker Street Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Hall.
Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
The body will remain in Lowe Funceral Home through the service.
