Helen Friddle Dawson

WHITSETT- Helen Friddle Dawson, 87, of Whitsett, passed away at her residence on Friday 10/28/2022. Anative of Guilford County, she was the wife of Roy C. Dawson, who survives and the daughter of Charlie Clyde Friddle and Hattie Clapp Friddle, both deceased.

Helen was a longtime member of Brick Reformed Church where she formerly sang in the choir and was a member of the Women of the Church. She retired from AT& T/Lucent Technologies and after retirement, enjoyed her time as a substitute teacher at Gibsonville Elementary School.

In addition to her husband, Roy, Helen is survived by her daughter, Dawn Hutchens and her husband Gene, of Whitsett; her son, Barry Dawson and his wife Pam, of Whitsett; a sister, Shirley Vaden, of Whitsett; her grandchildren, Dr. Hunter Dawson (Melissa), Tyler Dawson (Nellie) and AustinMoody (Shelby); and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Smith; brothers, Kelly Friddle and Wade Friddle and a great grandson, Gabe Dawson.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday 11/2/1022 at Brick Reformed Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m., immediately prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers, Gena and puppy, Diana, Joyce and Betty, all of whom gave so much of themselves in looking after their wife and mother.
