BURLINGTON — Johnnie Edward Blalock Sr., 81, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 at his home.
He was born July 20, 1929 in Caswell County to the late Henry Fletcher Blalock Sr. and Annie Bell Johnson Blalock and was married for 61 years to Delcie Hart Blalock, who survives. He was a member at Bethel Baptist Church and was employed for 33 years at Sears where he later retired.
Johnnie is survived by his wife of the home; son, Randy Blalock and wife Sue of Jonesville, N.C.; daughter, Pam Moore and husband Keith of Portland, Maine; daughterin-law, Becky Kimrey; eight grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; brothers, Roy Blalock and Donald Blalock; and sisters, Eleanor Swinney, Dorothy Lunsford and Faye Underwood.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a son, Johnnie Edward “Eddie” Blalock Jr.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Keith Moore and Pastor Rick Chandler with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 prior to the service on Thursday and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 and to A Heart’s Cry Pregnancy Resource and Counseling Center, 306 S. Main St., Graham, N C 27253.
