Mary Frances Overby Redd Saunders
REIDSVILLE - Mary Frances Overby Redd Saunders, 86, of 8062 Cherry Grove Road, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. Gaylord Dix and Rev. Sammy Allison officiating.
Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington.
Mary was born on August 19,1930, in Orange County, to the late William Overby, Sr. and Annie Parrish Overby and was a retiree of Copeland Fabrics.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years and enjoyed helping the sick of the church. In her younger years she was an avid bowler and later in life she received her GED of which she was very proud of.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Robert Redd and William Saunders; brothers, Jim, Leonard and Herman Overby; sister, Pattie McGhee and stepson, Billy Saunders.
Survivors include her sons, Rodney Robert Redd, Terry Michael Redd and wife, Debbie, Thomas David Redd and wife, Rose; daughter, Sandra Kay Redd; second family, Wendy and Jerry Page, Brenda Rogers and Randy Saunders and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Rod Redd, Kathy Tingen, Betty Troxler, Wanda Troxler, Heather Vereyken, Christopher Redd, Kristin Redd, Emily Wilson, Charles Redd, John Saunders, Josh Saunders, Tonya Galdwin, Eddie Pruitt, Jimmy Mc-Millian, Joey McMillian, Royce Albright and Angela Winter; 21 great- grandchildren and six greatgreat-grandchildren and sisters, Jean Hundley and Sadie Conklin.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Wilkerson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Hwy 150 East, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
