Obituary Online notes for “Buddy” Arlie May HUFFMAN Jr.
Arlie M. Huffman, 86, of Trinity, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 07, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Buddy was born on September 12, 1926, in Randolph County, a son to the late Arlie Huffman and Alma Caviness Huffman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Robbins Huffman and sister, Bernice Varner. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Navy. Buddy was a member of Green Street Baptist Church; he attended the Jerry Poole Sunday School Class and assisted with the Wednesday night meals. He was the owner/operator of Huffman Carpet Sales and Service. Buddy enjoyed bird watching for Purple Martins and building Blue Bird houses, gardening especially tomatoes and having the joy of sharing them with everyone possible. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by two daughters, Jan Moore and husband, Joey, of High Point and Judy Hartgrove and husband, Neal of Garner; a brother, Dean Huffman and wife, Carol, of Asheboro and three grandchildren, Kristin Coberly and husband, Kevin, Benjamin and Beverly Hartgrove.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 9th at Green Street Baptist Church in High Point with Rev. Frank Hensley officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park in Greensboro. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 10 until 11 AM at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Green Street Baptist Church, 1701 Westchester Drive, Ste 620, High Point, NC 27262.
The family would like to thank the following, Carroll and Gerri Bowles, Jim and Priscilla Robbins, Jessica Hill and Natavia Knight, for the love, care and support given to Buddy.
