Obituary Online notes for Elizabeth C. BANKS
Elizabeth is thought to be the daughter of Amos Overstreet Banks and Ann Catherine Caughman.

Her father was a veteran of the civil war. Her mother died when Elizabeth was only 7 years old and her brother, Amos Columbus Banks, was only 5.

She married Dr. Joseph Augustus Crouse about 1878 and with him has two sons, Eugene and Lester Methridis Crouse and two daughters, Mary Rebecca "Mae" Crouse who died at age 16 and Myrtle Gertrude Crouse Tysinger, who died at age 36. Mrs. Crouse was apparently admitted here when her children were very young.

Her marker number indicates that she was the 460th person admitted to the new asylum in Morganton.

Her husband went on to marry again within two years of her death - to Mariah Saraphine Huffman, with whom he had fourteen more children. 470, Elizabeth C Banks Crouse
