September 24, 1967 ~ July 16, 2021 (age 53)
Maria Elizabeth Bohigas Foster, 53, went to be with Jesus face to face on Friday, July 16, 2021, after a ten month valiant battle with cancer.
Maria was born in Alamance County, NC, to the late José and Lourdes Bohigas. She and her family moved to Fredericksburg, VA, in 2004. An educator at heart, she homeschooled her two children and taught English as a second language to adults for many years. She was a loyal friend, mother to many, compassionate advocate, and devoted lover of Jesus. She passed on her passion for music and worship to her two daughters and taught them to delight in beauty and life.
Maria will be lovingly remembered by her faithful husband of 30 years, Kip Foster; two daughters, Sarah Foster and Lydia Burgess; son-in-law Blue Burgess; brother Bernie Bohigas and his wife; nephew Brandon Bohigas and his wife and children; mother-in-law Peggie Foster; sister-in-law Beverly Foster and her husband and children.
A graveside service to celebrate Maria’s life will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday July 21, 2021 at Alamance Memorial Park, 4039 S. Church St, Burlington, NC 27215 by Rev. John Hinson. The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:30am Wednesday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory, 2205 S. Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.
On Saturday, July 31 at 1:00pm, a celebration of life service will be held in Fredericksburg, VA, at Awakening Community Church, 5024 South Point Parkway, Fredericksburg, VA 22407.
