GRAHAM - Mr. Kenneth Lee Isley, 76, of 1352 E. Harden Street, died at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2011 at his home, after an illness of one year.

A native of Alamance County, he was the loving husband of 55 years to Mrs. Nellie Tingen Isley, who survives, and the son of Mr. Grover Alfred Isley and Mrs. Betty Lewis Isley, both deceased.

He was a retired mechanic for the Alamance and Guilford Counties School Bus Transportation Departments. He had a lifetime love of farming and raising cattle. He attended Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.

Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Cindy Jackson and husband Pastor William David Jackson of Goldsboro; a son, Mr. Kendall W. Isley and wife Lisa Richardson Isley of Haw River; two grandsons, Andrew S. Jackson and Ryan W. Jackson of Goldsboro; a sister, Mrs. Betty Ruth McPherson of Graham; two brothers, Mr. William Richard Isley (Ann) of Graham and Mr. Grover Russell Isley (Jeanette) of Burlington; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruby "Dolly" Wood Isley of Graham and Mrs. Peggy Tingen Massey of Burlington; life-long special friends, Donald and Freddie Dixon of Haw River and many other special friends, nieces and nephews.

A loving brother, James Alfred Isley, preceded him in death.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Shelton, pastor, and Pastor David Jackson, pastor of Freedom Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will be at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham, from 5 until 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011 and at other times at the home.
