Mr. And Mrs.. Grover A. ISLEY Isley Couple Honored On 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs.. Grover A. ISLEY of Route 1, Graham, were honored with a recep- tion Sunday afternoon at their home in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary. Hosts for the occasion were the couple's children, Mr. and Mrs.. James ISLEY, Mr. and Mrs.. Ben McPherson, Mr. and Mrs.. Russell ISLEY, Mr. and Mrs.. Richard ISLEY and Mr. and Mrs.. Kenneth ISLEY. Mrs.. ISLEY was presented a white orchid corsage to com- plement her red gown and Mr. ISLEY wore a white carnation boutonniere. Mrs.. ISLEY's nephew, Mr. and Mrs.. Johnny Cable, greeted guests in the living room which was decorated with an arrangement of yellow mums and gladioli flanked by lighted candles on the mantel. Miss Cathy ISLEY, grand- daughter of the honored couple, presided at the registry . . . . Assisting in serving were the couple's granddaughters, Mrs.. Tommy Roberts and Miss Rhonda McPherson. Misses DeLane, Dona and Cindy ISLEY, granddaughters, and Mrs.. Eula Gates, sister of Mrs.. ISLEY, assisted in receiving gifts. Goodbyes were said to Rusty and KENDALL ISLEY, grandsons. Approximately 180 guests called between the hours of 2 and 4 p.m. Mr. and Mrs.. ISLEY, who were married February 14, 1929, have 11 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Grover's death record shows his father's name as James Alfred Isley.
