Edna Garner May
GRAHAM — Mrs. Edna Garner May, 94, of 630 Oak Grove Drive, Graham, and formerly of Pond Road, Burlington, died at her residence on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011 at 4:45 a.m.
A native of Robbins, N.C., she was the wife of the late Lonnie Richard May and the daughter of William J. Garner and Alice Brown Garner, both deceased.
She retired from Kayser-Roth and enjoyed working with her flowers and making cakes.
Edna was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Betsy Pickard and husband Bobby, of the home; two sisters,EtheleenDavisand Texie Garner, both of Robbins; one brother, Herbert Garner and wife Geneva, of Robbins; five grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; and four greatgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jack G. May; her grandson, Jeffrey Pickard; three sisters and three brothers.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Graham on Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. James Lockley.
Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
