Sandra Tickell Johnson
GIBSONVILLE, N.C. — Sandra Tickell Johnson, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
She was born in New Hanover County and was the daughter of the late Vardley Tickell and the late Virginia Nix Tickell Garrett.
Sandra was employed for several years with Western Electric and was of the Baptist faith. She loved taking care of animals and traveling. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer D. Johnson of Florida; and her sisters, Carol Tickell Pettigrew and husband Steve of Gibsonville and Rita Tickell Hegarty and husband Peter of Charlotte; nieces, Deborah Carden Seward and husband David, Leslie Chris Carden and special friend Michelle Davenport, and Danyelle Hegarty; nephews,Wesley David Carden and Justin Hegarty; several greatnieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The Johnson family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff of ARMC for their kind and compassionate care for Sandra.
A cryptside service to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday,
Feb. 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Mausoleum Chapel.
Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
