LEASBURG – Robert "PETE" Andrew Hamlett, 91 of 1461 NC Hwy. 119 North, died Saturday morning February 10, 2018 at his home.
Born in Caswell County son of the late Johnny Martin Hamlett & Mary Wilkins Hamlett; in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over sixty-one years Nellie Barts Hamlett and his grandson Chris Hamlett. Mr. Hamlett was a US Navy Veteran having served in W.W.II. He was a member of Griers Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are four children: James Harold Hamlett of Leasburg, Bob Hamlett & wife Cindy of Greensboro, Dwight Hamlett of Leasburg, Wanda Butts & husband Ronnie of Leasburg; his sister Frances Blalock & husband Ben Prospect Hill; his brother Carlton Hamlett & wife Ruth of Burlington, eight grandchildren & five greatgrandchildren also survive.
The family would like to give a heartfelt special thank you to his caretakers Brenda Hall & Olean Moore for all the love, care, respect and help that they have shown and given Mr. Hamlett through the years.
The family will receive friends 6 p.m. till 7:30 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Services and other times at his home.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Griers Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Joe Jackson & Rev. Sam Jenkins. Interment will follow in Griers Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 7316 and American Legion Post
