Phillip Randall Millikan
ELON — Phillip Randall Millikan, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at his home. He was born in Randolph County and was the husband of 50 years to Patricia “Pat” Millikan, who survives.
Phillip was employed with Zag Equipment Company in Gibsonville. He was a member of Gibsonville Christian Church. Phillip served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War being stationed in Korea and Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed water skiing and various water sports with his family and friends. Phillip was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who were best described by his family as the “Wind beneath their wings”.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia “Pat” Ward Millikan, of the home; sons, Michael Millikan and wife Cathy of Graham and Stephen Millikan of the home; grandchildren, Ashland, Cateland and Lynleigh Millikan; sister, Wilma Hadley and husband Charles of Greensboro; and a sisterin-law, Ann Millikan of Greensboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Millis Waldo and Millie Meadows Dennis Millikan; son, David Millikan; and brothers, Gary and Bill Millikan.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Michael Barnett. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park with military honors by the U.S. Air Force.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
