Margaret Stafford Thompson
GRAHAM – Mrs. Margaret Stafford Thompson, 88, of Graham passed away at Ridgewood Manor, Washington, NC on Thursday, September 15, 2016.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife for 65 years to the late John Sabert Thompson and the daughter of Carl L. Stafford and Julia Lindley Stafford, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Gene T. Felton and husband Al of Newport; son, John Sabert Thompson, Jr. and wife Leta of Chocowinity; three grandchildren, Alan P. Felton and wife Joan, Jessica T. Orr and husband Van and Sarah T. Kelley and husband Roman; seven great-grandchildren, John Alan Felton, Virginia Gayle Felton, Camden Thomas Kelley, Evan Thompson Orr, Caleb Andrew Orr, Dean Matthew Orr and Jonathan Alan Orr; sisterin-law, Brenda S. Stafford; and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by four brothers, Jesse Stafford, Everette Stafford, Kermit Stafford and Haldean Stafford and one sister, Ethel S. Hancock.
The funeral service will be conducted at Bethel United Methodist Church, Snow Camp, NC on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11 a.m. by Rev. Joseph Park and Rev. Henry Thompson.
Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 4:30 p.m. til 6:30 p.m.
Other times they will be at the residence.
