Brona Pickard Hunter


    BURLINGTON — Mrs. Brona Pickard Hunter, 83, of Burlington, died Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
    Mrs. Hunter was a native of Alamance County and the wife of L. Frank Hunter, who survives. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Almond Pickard and the late Pansy Gaynelle Webster Pickard.
    Mrs. Hunter was a self-employed beautician for many years before retiring from Lawrence Industries. She was a member of KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) and was of the Baptist faith.
    In addition to her husband, Frank, of the home, she is survived by two sons, Greg Hunter and wife Maribel, of Yorktown, Va. and Dana Hunter of Burlington; granddaughter, Melissa Hunter of Yorktown, Va. and sister, Treva Brown of Haw River.
    Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her sister, Arma Rae Webster; brother-in-law, Earl Webster; brother, Auman Rex Pickard; sister-in-law, Shirley Pickard; and brother-in-law, Carlton Brown.
    The family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 1 until 2:30 p.m. at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
