Clarence “Billy” Lee May, Sr., 93, of Elon passed away at the AuthoraCare Hospice Home in Burlington on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Lois Jernigan May for 66 years and the son of the late Elmer May and the late Mexie Murray May. He retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Gibsonville Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee.
In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by his son, Clarence Lee May, Jr.; sister, Faye Turner and her husband Bud; and his brother, Elmer May.
His funeral will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington by Rev. William Baker with the family receiving friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service. The committal service will be at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following the funeral service.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his niece, Janice Rutledge and his nephew, Richard Jernigan and his wife Alice. In addition, they would like to thank Ruby and Tony along with AuthoraCare Hospice for their excellent care.
