MAY, EPENETUS

MRS. D. M. MAY DEAD

Mrs. Epenetus May died at her home, three and one-half miles east of Emporia, this morning at 5:30 o'clock, after a lingering illness from Bright's disease. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Friends Church on East Sixth Avenue.

Mrs. May was born in Hamilton County, Indiana, November 22, 1846. She came to Kansas in 1860, locating with her parents, two miles east of Emporia. She was married to D. M. May, in March, 1868. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. May, four of whom are dead, three having died in infancy. Mrs. May was a devout member of the Friends Church all her life. She was active in church affairs and took an interest in all its enterprises. She is survived by her husband, a brother and sister and two sons. They are D. M. May, S. H. Rich, Mrs. J. W. Gauze, Amos and Robert E. May, all of Emporia.
