GIBSONVILLE -- Mr. Aubrey Flagg Apple Sr., 87, of 6000 Apple-Wyrick Road went home to be with his Lord, wife, and son on Saturday August 27, 2005.

Mr. Apple's funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Apple's Chapel Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Aubrey Apple was born in Guilford County on November 24, 1917 to the late Charles E. "Ed" Apple and Effie Chrismon Apple. A lifelong resident, Mr. Apple was a retired farmer and devoted member of Apple's Chapel Christian Church where he was a former member of the Men's Junior Adult Sunday School Class and currently a member of the Sunshine Class.

Survivors include two children, Harold E. Apple Sr. and his wife Jannette and Carole A. Holland and her husband, Roger; daughter-in-law Gaynelle Apple; eight grandchildren, Sharon Reardon and her husband Mark, Susan Fuller and her husband Tom, Sandra Martin and her husband Tony, Wendy Loftis and her husband Ricky, Eric Apple and his wife Lynn, Cathy Shreve and her husband Tim, H. Edward Apple Jr.. and his wife Dana, and Christi Richardson and her husband Todd; 18 great-grandchildren; brother Elwood Apple and his wife Betty; sister-in-law Pauline F. Apple; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Apple was pre-ceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Pauline Eaton Apple; son Aubrey F. Apple Jr.., brothers Devoe J. Apple and Harvey E. Apple and sister Mary Edith Apple Kennedy.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Apple's Chapel Christian Church and other times at the residence.
