Obituary Online notes for “Jack” Everett Joel ISLEY Jr.
GIBSONVILLE - Everett Joel "Jack" Isley Jr., 88, of Gibsonville, died Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 at the Hospice Home in Burlington after a brief illness.
A native of Alamance County, Mr. Isley was the husband of Guinevere Thomas Isley, who survives, and the son of the late Everett Joel Isley and the late Lessie Foster Isley.
Mr. Isley was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps in the European Theater. He retired from Cone Mills after almost fifty years of service.
Mr. Isley was a devout Christian and along with his wife, faithfully attended Brightwood Christian Church for many years.
In addition to his wife, Guinevere, of the home, Mr. Isley is survived by his sons, Ronnie Isley and wife, Joy Isley, of Gibsonville, Joel Isley and wife, Julie Isley, of Gibsonville; three grandchildren, Katie Isley White and husband, Jay, Jodie Isley and Emily Thouin; one great-grandchild, Kinley White; long time friend, Paul Lineberry; one sister, Gail Thomas; and two brothers, Hobert Isley and Bill Isley.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in Brightwood Christian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Ricky Cox. Burial with military honors will be in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington, Monday evening, from 6:00 until 8:00. Other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to a Christian ministry of the donor's choice.
