GRAHAM — Mrs. Norma Arey Johnson, age 77, of 1915 Meadowview Dr., passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Alamance Health Care.
AnativeofGuilfordCounty, she was the wife of Jerry
G. Johnson and daughter of the late James Haywood and Viola Harwood Arey.
Mrs. Johnson was a longtime active member of Alamance Lutheran Church, ABWA and a retired employee of Western Electric / Lucent Technologies after 40 years of service.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Garland “J.J.” Johnson of the home; daughter, Cynthia Johnson Swiggett of the home; grandchildren, Julia Hope Swiggett, Matthew Nicholas Swiggett, Nathan Dallas Swiggett and wife Julie Williams-Swiggett and Scott Ashley Swiggett; father of grandchildren, Dale Swiggett; great grandson, Grant Hawthorne Swiggett; sister, Vonda Arey Garner and husband Billy Ray of Burlington; brother, Richard Harwood Arey and wife Joan of Staley; sisterin-law, Delores H. Arey; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Haywood Arey, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Alamance Lutheran Church by Rev. James Lockley, pastor. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the church parlor from 12:30-1:45 Monday, prior to the service.
