Harry Sharpe
GRAHAM — Harry Sharpe, 86, died peacefully and slipped into the arms of his savior on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Hospice Home. He was born March 10, 1927 to the late Judge W. and Mary Emma Shoffner Sharpe of the Mt. Hermon Community and husband for 68 years to Evelyn Jones Sharpe, who survives.
Harry was a resident of Graham and retired as a training superintendent from Lorillard Corp. He was a devoted member of Riverside Baptist Church and a former member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and usher. He was governed by the Lord in every aspect of his life and was a fi ne example of Christian faith. He was a sportsman who enjoyed golf, hunting and fi shing and was known for his pecan pies. He was a member of the Keyston Young, Jr. Outreach Sunday School Class. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren, of whom he was so proud.
In addition to his wife, Evelyn, of the home he is survived by sons Larry and wife Gay; Rodney and wife Sandy, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Logan, Corey, Orin and wife Christine, all of Charlotte; two step-grandchildren, Callum Brown and wife Ashleigh of Burlington, Travis Brown and wife Alexis of Columbia, SC; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Gracie, Emma and Paul; brother, Tom Sharpe and wife Alma of Graham. He was preceded
in death by sisters, Vida Isley, Martha Stratton, Ruth Shoemaker; brothers J.W. Sharpe and Marvin Sharpe.
A special thanks to Della Dickerson, Marva Davis, Lillian Trollinger and Mary Trollinger for their devotion and wonderful care of him during the past year as well as the Hospice staff.
Services will be held on Monday, January 20, at 11:30 am at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Bob Stephenson and Dr. Tommy Willis.
