ELON — Mrs. Sadie Leigh, 98, died at the Coble Healthcare Center at Twin Lakes Community on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at 3:17 p.m.
A native of Orange County, she was the daughter of Ed Lewis and Nannie Westbrooks Lewis, both deceased. She was owner and operator of Leigh’s Flower Shop. Sadie was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, William E. Leigh and wife Lucy, Faye L. Kimball and husband Clifton, Shirley L. Smith and husband Johnny, and Joseph D. Leigh; six grandchildren, Johnny Roland, Allen Leigh, Sherry Smith, Kelli Bowman, Stephanie Page and George Leigh; 11 great- grandchildren; eight greatgreat- grandchildren; and three sisters, Irene Shields, Ruby Squires and Dorothy Jordan.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Leigh; four brothers; and two sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at 12:30 p.m. by the Rev. Dave Gilbert with the family receiving friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
