Obituary Online notes for Marilyn MASSEY
Marilyn Massey Somers, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hester officiating. The family will see friends 2 hours prior to the service from 9-11 AM. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery.
Marilyn was born in Rockingham County to the late Ernest and Grace Barker Massey and was a retiree of Lorillard Tobacco Company. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Garden Club and Community Baptist Church choir where she was a member. She also was an avid golfer, enjoyed dancing and was “The Princess of Carolina House”.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey McKiver Somers; brothers, E. W. Massey and Billy Massey; sister-in-law, Evelyn Massey.
Survivors include her son, Wayne Somers and wife, Darla (Angel); grandchildren, Claudia and Chris; great grandchildren, Ryan and Landon; brother, Robert Massey; sister, Katherine Griffith; sisters-in-law, Carrie Massey and Mildred Massey; aunt, Tommie Carter and many nieces and nephews.
