Obituary Online notes for Gwendolyn Glee GREENWOOD
Gwen Oliver, loving wife, mother and grandmother, has gone to be with her Lord. Gwendolyn Glee (Greenwood) Oliver, 75, of 4003 Viewmont Dr., died Thursday, Aug. 20, 1998, at Moses Cone Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 1998, at Rehobeth United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Oklahoma, Mrs. Oliver was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was active in the Friendly Sunday School Class and her Circle. She was a leader in too many scout troups, youth groups, PTA, and community groups to list them all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma (Boswell) and Hutson Greenwood, Sr.; brother, Hutson Greenwood, Jr. and half-brother, Jack Singer.

She is survived by her husband, James Henry Oliver, Jr. of the home; children, Sheila Gaye Inman of Raleigh, Michael Jay Oliver of Memphis, Tenn., James Henry Oliver, III and Shannon Hutson Oliver, both of Greensboro; sisters, Flo VonTungeln of El Reno, Okla., Annette Haws of Ft. Worth, Texas; and grandchildren, Aric Inman, Julie Inman, Aaron Oliver, Laura Oliver, Meredith Inman, Amy Oliver, Amanda Oliver, Ashley Oliver, Justin Martin, and Angie Martin.

Gwen's love was tireless and unconditional. She never knew how to hurt, only how to love. Her grandchildren were the center of her universe and she cherished each one equally.
It's just not fair for the world to lose Gwen and Sheri Lewis in the same year.
