    BURLINGTON — Mr. David R. Whitesell, 49, of Burlington, passed away at 10:47 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, 2011 at the Hospice Home following several years declining health.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the son of George R. Whitesell and Janie Crouse Whitesell, who survive. David was a former employee of George R. Whitesell Construction, Graphic Systems and Carpet King. He was a member of St. Mark’s Church, a 1980 graduate of Western High School and also a graduate of Alamance Community College.
    Surviving, other than his parents of Burlington are a sister, Lynn Whitesell Moore and husband Charles of Burlington; and two nephews, Jacob Moore and Patrick Moore.
    He was preceded in death by an infant sister.
    Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9 at St. Mark’s Church with the Rev. Robert M. Disher Jr. and the Rev. Ben Bishop officiating.
    The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Rich & Thompson
Mortuary in Burlington
and in the church parlor following the service. At other times they will be at the residence of his parents.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to St. Mark’s Church Cemetery Fund, 1230 St. Mark’s Church Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
