Mrs. Mildred Harrod Wagoner
ELON — Mrs. Mildred Harrod Wagoner, 86, of 715 S. Williamson Ave., died at 2:13 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003, after 13 months of failing health.
A native of Sturgis, Miss., she was the wife of the late Garland W. Wagoner Sr., and the daughter of the late James Howard Harrod and Margaret Livingston Harrod. She retired as owner of Wagoner Flooring Company and was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, where she taught the Hite Sunday school class. She was also a member of the Powlas WELCA.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lora Wagoner Womack and husband, Graham, of Gibsonville and Mrs. Martha W. Ross Beckom and husband, John, of Burlington; a son, Mr. Johnny Wagoner and wife, Janet, of Liberty; six grandchildren, Cyndi Womack Pigg and husband, Sloane, Theresa Ross Lilienthal and husband, Rick, Michael Mac Ross and wife, Terri, Melinda Ann Riley and husband, William, Jackie Wagoner Johnson and husband, Tim, and Steven Bryan Wagoner; eight great-grandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; two great-great-stepgrandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lorene Brammer Harrod of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Harrod Pike; and brother, James Samuel Harrod.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. Raymond Petrea, and the Rev. Kristina Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening.
