James Everett McBane
   ELON — James Everett Mc-Bane, 71, of 3950 N.C. 87 North, died Friday, Feb.11, 2011, at the Hospice Home.

He was born in Alamance County to the late Allen Reese and Mary Stout McBane and was married to the late Judy Tate McBane.

He retired from P. Lorillard Company and was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.

James regularly attended the Barn Dance in Julian.

   He is survived by his son, Benny McBane, of the home; sisters, Evelyn M. Braxton of Snow Camp, Treva M. (Leonidas) Newlin of Snow Camp and Mary Catherine Meyers of Graham; brothers, Scott (Linda) McBane, Floyd (Gean) McBane, Charles (Martha) Mc-Bane, Dewey (Lydia) McBane, all of Snow Camp, and John (Johnnie) McBane of Haw River; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

   The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday at Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Dave Gilbert and the Rev. Matt Smith, with interment to follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Sunday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.

   Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Christian Church Special Projects Fund, 3625 Altamahaw Church St., Elon, NC 27244.
