Dwight Calvin Watson Sr.

    PROSPECT HILL — Jesus called Dwight Calvin Watson Sr. home Friday, September 19, 2008.

He shared 31 years of marriage with his wife Dianne Wrenn Watson.

He was born April 11, 1952, in Durham to the late Floyd David Watson and Irma Allen Watson, who survives.

Dwight was employed by Orange County Correctional Center, a board member of Prospect Hill Fire Department and a member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher in the nursery for over 20 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, son, grandfather, brother and son-in-law who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

    Survivors include his wife, of the home; mother, of Prospect Hill; sons, Dwight C. Watson Jr. and his wife, the Rev. Patricia Watson, of Keedysville, MD, Derek W. Watson and his wife, Carla Watson, of Reidsville; a grandson, Matthew Fotta; a brother, Michael Watson and his wife, Lynn, of Oak Island; a special mother-in-law, Inez S. Wrenn; a brother-in-law, J.V. Wrenn and his wife, Pam; three nephews; and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his father, fatherin-law, Vance Wrenn, and a nephew, Buddy Hamlett.

    The funeral will be held 3:00 PM Monday, at Lea Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Donald Harris and the Rev. Patricia Watson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

    The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday at the church and at other times at the residence, 2132 Ridgeville Rd., Prospect Hill.
