WINSTON-SALEM — Kathryn Jean Saunders, age 48 of Statesville, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at North Carolina Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Saunders was born May 17, 1962, in Alamance County to Bobby Gene and Peggy Wright Truitt, who survives her. She is also survived by her husband, John B. Saunders of the home.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is survived by her son, Ralph Reid (Chip) Huskey Jr. and wife Cheryl of Caswell, N.C.; a stepson, John Christopher Saunders and wife Christy of Dighton, Kan.; one brother, Robert Truitt and wife Lori of Elon; one sister, Lois McPherson and husband Keith of Snow Camp; her father and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Mary Lou Saunders of Statesville; three brothersin-law, three sisters-in-law nine nephews and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her stepmother Doris Truitt. Kathy was employed by the NASCAR circuit in mobile marketing.
Memorial services will be held at Nicholson Funeral Home on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at 2 p.m. with Mr. Chris Williams officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Kathy’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
