Mr. John David “J.D.” Gerringer, 91, of Burlington died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at The Village of Brookwood. A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Lillian Daniels Gerringer, who survives and the son of John Calvin Gerringer and Laura Thomas Gerringer, both deceased. He was formerly employed at Associated Transport and General Electric in Mebane and was a former volunteer with the Alamance County Meals on Wheels. John was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church and the Shallowford Squares. In addition to his wife, survivors include daughter, Pricilla Gerringer Bell and husband Jerry. John is preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. The funeral service will be conducted at Shallow Ford Christian Church on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. George M. “Jack” Phillips. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and at other times at the daughter’s home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. 3, John David “J.D.” Gerringer
