E. Joseph “Joe” Murray
 

 Mr. E. Joseph “Joe” Murray, 80, of Elon, NC died Thursday, February 4, 2016, at White Oak Manor in Burlington.
 
 A native of Alamance County, Mr. Murray was the husband of Kaye Cable Murray, who survives, and the son of the late Clyde Murray and the late Dora Loy Murray.
 
 Mr. Murray was a veteran of the US Navy. He attended Elon College and worked for Engineered Plastics for 35 years.
 
 Mr. Murray was a member of Shallow Ford Christian Church in Elon, where he served as a Deacon, Trustee and a teacher for the Ladies’ Bible Class. He also served as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
 
 In addition to his wife, Kaye, of the home, Mr. Murray is survived by a daughter, Barbara Murray of Elon; a son, Dr. Ron Murray and his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Murray, of Elon; two sisters, Hallie M. McClulloch and Lillie M. Robbins, and her husband, Kenneth.
 
 He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ves Murray and Luther Murray; and a sister, Lucy Parrish.
 
 A service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Shallow Ford Christian Church. Officiating
 
will be the Rev. Steve Regan.
 
 The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. Other times the family will be at theresidence.
 
 Memorials may be made to Shallow Ford Memorial Association, 1263 Shallowford Church Road, Elon, NC 27244.
 
 The family would especially like to acknowledge the love and prayers of their extended family and friends.
 
 They would also like to acknowledge the exceptional care and support provided by the staff of White Oak Manor of Burlington.
