Alma Mae Crouse Greene Wright
BURLINGTON – Mrs. Alma Mae Crouse Greene Wright, age 95, of Burlington, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Hospice Home after several months of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Lester M. Crouse and the late Flora Lelia Gerringer Crouse and was previously married to the late William Allen Greene, who passed in 1980, and later was married to the late R. Bradley Wright, who passed in 2002.
Alma graduated from Elon High School before she was employed for over 41 years with Carolina Biological. She was a longtime member of People’s Memorial Christian Church and later went to Trinity Worship Center and was recently attending Bethel Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will always be remembered for her smile. Mrs. Wright’s family would like to extend a special thanks to all the family and friends, especially the staff of Hospice, that supported them and Alma during her time of illness.
Alma is survived by her son, Michael Allen “Mike” Greene and his wife, Jane, of Burlington; two grandsons, Richard D. Greene and his wife, Penney, and Rodney M. Greene and his wife, Tracy; four great grandchildren, Alison Marie Greene, Whitney Elizabeth Greene, Macy Carlen Greene and McKenzie Faith Greene; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; step-mother, Fannie Gerringer Crouse; a sister, Ilene Baker; and four brothers, Uby Crouse, Roy Crouse, Ray Crouse and Clair Crouse.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2017 at People’s Memorial Christian Church by Rev. David Grinnell, Rev. David Jackson and Rev. Jack Lemons. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3-5 PM Sunday afternoon at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the son, Mike’s home, 3294 Alex Faye Dr., Burlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
