GRAHAM — Mr. Ira Dean Gerringer , 69, of 100-A Denise Drive, Burlington, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, he retired as an electrician with GKN of Mebane. He also was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include three daughters, Deanna Hughes and husband Jimmy of Elon, Donna Greeson of Tampa, Fla., and Debbie Little and husband Roger of Graham; one son, Dean Gerringer and wife Donna of Denton; his mother, Eleanor Hodge Gerringer of Burlington; and brother, Eddie Gerringer of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Murray Gerringer and father, Ira Boyd Gerringer .
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, at the Bible Baptist Church in Burlington with Dr. Tommy Richardson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at McClure Funeral Home in Graham and other times will be at the residence of Deanna and Jimmy Hughes, 1691 Powerline Road, Elon.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale St., Memphis, Tenn. 38015.
