BURLINGTON — Mrs. Emma Jean Gerringer Cook, 65, of 552 N.C. 87 North, died Saturday, July 8, 2000 at her home after five years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of Mr. Austin L. Cook, who survives, and the daughter of Mr. Freeman Gerringer and Mrs. Ollie Simpson Gerringer, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and a member of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ.
Survivors other than her husband of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Gina Cook Wofford of Burlington; a son, Mr. Rodney Cook of Burlington; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Leslie Jolley, pastor of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.
