Mr. Joseph Tennon Allred
BURLINGTON — Mr. Joseph Tennon Allred, 92, formerly of 5362 NC 49 North, died Thursday November 20, 2003 at Hospice Home following two weeks critical illness.
A native of Caswell County, he was husband of the late Edna Miles Allred and son of the late Joseph Ezra and Sarah Susan Tate Allred. He was a retired farmer and employee of Kayser Roth Corp. He was a member of Baynes Baptist Church where he was honored as a Life Deacon.
Mr. Allred is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Hall, Ms. Doris Hyler, Mrs. Clyde (Betty) Moody, Mrs. Phil (Peggy) Faucette and Mrs. Earl (Frankie) Sartin, all of Burlington; son, William Lonnie “Billy” Allred of Graham; sister, Ms. Frances Daniels of Burlington; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sons, James “Jim” Allred, Bobby Lee Allred and Thomas Wayne “Pete” Allred; brothers, Loften Allred, Lee Allred and Roy Allred; and grandson William Barry Allred.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at Baynes Baptist Church by Rev. Larry McCarty and Elder Wallis Smith. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Allred will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory until taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 PM Saturday, and at other times at the home of Earl and Frankie Sartin, 4919 Sartin Road, Burlington.
