BURLINGTON - Mr. Bobby Ray Shambley, 70, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Alamance County, NC, he was the son of the late Walter Lee and Bernice Isley Shambley.
He was retired from Kayser-Roth with 28 years of service. He had a special love for Duke University especially when it came to basketball and he always loved to see Duke beat Carolina. He was an avid fisherman and family man which he loved his grandchildren with all of his heart. He so looked forward to his next cruise with his wife as they had traveled the world together side by side. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Evelyn Bullard Shambley; daughter, Denise S. Freeman (Dale); son, Mark Shambley (Tracy); grandchildren, Brittany (Zach), Amber, Avery, Whitney, Hannah, and Blake; greatgrandchild, Weston; granddogs, Willie and Gunner; sisters, Judy Hensley, Carol East, and Barbara Thompson (Ozzie); brothers, Kenny (Erma) and Steve (Kathy) and his loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Rev. Bill Rich officiating.
Burial will follow in Bellemont UMC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence of the family.
