OBITUARIES Lewis Henry "L.H." Faucette
BURLINGTON — Lewis Henry "L.H." Faucette , 79, of 3718 Burch Bridge Rd. went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 1, 2005, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was the husband of Betty B. Faucette for fifty-six years, and son of the late Lewis Henry and Florence Beckom Faucette .
L.H. retired form Glen Raven Mills after 40 years of service. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and on various committees. He was a member of the church choir and the Methodist Men. He loved the game of baseball, playing in the minor leagues and some semi pro ball in the late 40’s and early 50’s, for Green Top, Burlington Bees and other teams. He also loved farming and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Betty B. Faucette of the home; daughter, Melissa "Missy" Wood of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Elliot W. Faucette and his wife Sandy of Burlington and Mark L. Faucette of Newport, N.C.; grandsons, Doug Wood, Jeff Wood, Davis Faucette and Alex Faucette ; and a sister, Emogene Faucette of Burlington. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lucille F. Reid.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 4, 2005 at Bethel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening, July 3, 2005 at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund or to the Hymnal Fund at 1421 Bethel United Methodist Church Rd., Burlington, NC, 27217.
