November 20, 1954 ~ April 18, 2020 (age 65)

Susan Camille Heffner Thomas, 65, of Burlington passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Edward Lee Thomas and the daughter of the late Clayton Edgar Heffner and the late Marie Douglas Heffner. She was a retired teacher who formerly taught at Burlington Christian Academy, Abundant Life Christian Academy and Clover Garden.

She was a graduate of Hugh M Cummings High School and Oral Roberts University. The foundation of her life was faith, family and her many friends.  She was known for her sense of humor, artistic gifts of painting, crafts, knitting and kindness. Camille also taught classes on different kinds of needlework at ACC and at the Kernodle Senior Center.  She volunteered at the White House in Graham. She had a great love for animals and always had a dog or cat. She enjoyed horseback riding, bee keeping  . Camille was an active member of  Burlington Assembly of God  where she sang in the choir, volunteered for several groups.  She was an active member of the Alamance Chorale.

Survivors include a son, Jon Andrew Thomas and his wife Brittany; grandchildren, Ethan Garrett Wynn, Rebekkah Brianna Wynn and Clayton Andrew Lee Thomas; and son-in-law, Billy Wynn.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Candice Thomas Wynn.

In light of the recent restrictions due to the Coronavirus, there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
