Otis Franklin Saunders

Otis Franklin Saunders, 87, passed away on December 21, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Stony Creek Presbyterian Church, 2140 Stoney Creek Church Road, Burlington, NC 27217 with Rev. Randolph Wellford officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Otis was born in Caswell County to the late John Frank Saunders and Annie Elizabeth Saunders. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sarah Ross Saunders; sons, Mark Randall Saunders and Craig Nelson Saunders; grandson, Zachary Craig Saunders; brother, Samuel Floyd Lee Saunders. He worked for 8 years at Burlington Industries in the transportation division and then retired after 34 years of service with the United States Department of Agriculture in Caswell and then Rockingham County ASCS office. He was a member of Stony Creek Presbyterian Church, former member of Cherry Grove Ruritan Club with 34 years of perfect attendance, the American Red Poll Cattle Association and the Blue Ridge Red Poll Cattle Association where he served as Director and President.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crumpton Saunders; daughter, Pam Jackson and husband, Mark; daughter-in-law, Denise Saunders; step children, Pam Roberts, Kathy Walker and husband,George, Pat Holsclaw and husband, Mike, Donald Shaw and wife, Carrie, Rhonda Saul and husband, Brian; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 26th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Other times the family will be at the residence.
