Marie Moore Gerringer, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 12, 1943 in Caswell County to the late Paul Moore and Carrie Page Moore, and was married to the late Gary “PeeWee” Gerringer.
Marie formerly worked at Holt Hosiery and Brown Wooten Mills. She was a member of Pleasant View Assembly of God Church. Marie enjoyed cooking, softball, playing cards, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, Steve Smith, Paula Bailey and husband Tim, and Shannon Walker and wife Laurie; grandchildren, Ashley Smith, Shawn Smith, Tiffany Walker, Emily Walker, Shayne Foster, Cole Foster and Ashley Kluk; great grandchildren, Alie Blackwell, Eli Garcia, Ema Foster, Chloe Fuqua, Sadie Foster, Alicia Kluk, Aisley Kluk, Hayden Kluk and Marilyn Lewis; sisters, Mary Jean McKinney and husband Willard and Peggy Patterson; brothers, Elton Moore and wife Brenda, Ray Moore and Don Moore; several nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a daughter, Ann Walker and a brother, Wayne Moore.
The graveside service will be held at 4:00pm Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Pleasant View Assembly of God Church by Pastor Darrell Massey. The family will receive friends following the service.
