BURLINGTON- Mr. Frank Gerringer, 80, of 1113 Hermitage Road., Burlington, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Sunday, April 1, 2007, at 1:59 a.m. at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 3, at the Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. Bruce Church officiating.

A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of Mrs. Magdalene W. Gerringer, and was preceded in death by his parents, John S. and Sally May Gerringer as well as a son, Gary Frank "Pee Wee" Gerringer. He was retired from Branch Motor Lines, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Oak Ridge Hunt Club.

Surviving other than his wife of the home are two daughters, Mrs. Darlene Evans of Gibsonville and Ms. Carolyn Gerringer of the home; a son, Mr. Roger "Pooch" Gerringer of Whitsett; a brother, Mr. June Gerringer of Altamahaw; three grandchildren, Jeff Evans, Candace Gerringer and Michelle Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsey, Brianna, Taylor and Zoey.

He was preceded in death other than his parents and a son by three sisters, Mary Baldwin, Evelyn Brown and Margaret Taylor, and five brothers, Raymond Gerringer, Bill Gerringer, Floyd Gerringer, John Gerringer and Tom Gerringer.

The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening and other times at the residence.
