Magdalene Waynick Gerringer
   BURLINGTON — Mrs. Magdalene Waynick Gerringer, 84, of 1113 Hermitage Road, Burlington, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012 at 9 a.m. at her residence.

   A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of 61 years to the late Frank Gerringer and the daughter of John Henry Waynick and Jessie Viola Little Waynick, both deceased. She retired from, and was a former partner of, The Book Exchange in Burlington. Magdalene was a member of Trinity Worship Center, where she loved going to church on Sunday and especially loved Pastor Cox’s Wednesday evening Bible study. She also enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was an avid fan of Atlanta Braves baseball and Duke basketball.

   She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

   Survivors include two daughters, Darlene Evans and Carolyn Gerringer; a son, Roger “Pooch” Gerringer and wife Judy; four grandchildren, Jeff Evans, Candace Gerringer, Michelle Smith and Luther Holyfield; five great-grandchildren, Brittany, Chelsey, Brianna, Taylor and Zoey; and one great-great-grandchild, Kiara.

   She was preceded in death by one son, Gary “Pee Wee” Gerringer; and one sister, Lelia May Rudd.

   The funeral service will be conducted at Trinity Worship Center on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012 at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Darrell Cox and the Rev. Bruce Church, with the family receiving friends from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Entombment will follow the service in the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.

   At other times the family will be at the residence.

   The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Esther Gradner, Naureen Gerner, Shirley Stout and Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for the care given to Magdalene.

   Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington is in charge of arrangements.
