Ruth (Arthur) Moore, 81, R.R. 2, Lynn, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 1988 at Community Care Center, Winchester, where she had resided for the last two years.
She was born Jan. 29, 1907 near Union City, the daughter of the late Lester and Lenna (Alexander) Arthur. She was a life-long resident of Randolph County, and attended Wayne High School. She was a member of the Peaceful Valley Ladies Aid. She was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.
Surviving are her husband if 62 years, Vernie, one son, Dale Moore, Spartanburg, one daughter, Phyllis Kindell, Houston, Texas, a nephew, Donald Williams, Indianapolis, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, one sister, Doris Lake of Ky., six brothers, Ralph Arthur, Farmland, Glen and Noel Arthur, Lynn, Lloyd Arthur of Calif., Basil Arthur, Winchester, Stanley Arthur, Union City, Ind.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Thomas Funeral Home, Lynn, with Rev. Marcell Thornburg officiating. Burial will be in Spartanburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Peaceful Valley Ladies Aid. 470, Ruth Arthur Moore
