Larry Linwood Anderson


    BURLINGTON — Larry Linwood Anderson, 81, of N.C. 87 North passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
    He was born in Alamance County to the late Grover Brower and Rosa Barber Anderson and was married for 58 years to Hazel Kernodle Anderson, who survives.
    Larry retired from AT&T after 31 years of service. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, the VFW Post #2972 and the Moose Lodge #649. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War in the 424th Field Artillery Battalion B Battery.
    He is survived by his wife of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Vickie A. and Tim Bradley of Mebane and Jamie Anderson Greenway of Elon; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sherrie Anderson of Elon; grandchildren, Jennifer, Allison, Caroline and Jessica Bradley, William Cole Anderson and Marjirie Pearl Greenway; great-granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Bradley; brothers, G. Clinton Anderson of Pine Knoll Shores and Gale D. Anderson of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, J. Howard, Carmel W., and E. Cleo Anderson.
    The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Fairview United Methodist Church by the Rev. Nathan Whittman with interment to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church, 3128 Osceola Road, Elon, N.C. 27244.
